A disaster waiting to happen -
The River Lee at Inniscarra Bridge skirting the town of Ballincollig in County Cork. This photograph shows the River Lee at least six times as broad as usual in full and frightful flow. At least eight housing estates in Ballincollig and the City of Cork are situated directly in front of this deluge. About a mile upstream from where this photograph was taken on November 20th 2009 is the Dam at Inniscarra which holds back a breadth of water at least 26 miles long and in many places over 100 feet deep.To view more images of the localised flooding, go to latest photos.
